| tomorrow is my birthday.
i will be eighteen years old.
considered an adult by law,
but not an adult in my heart --
hopefully not for a long time.
i don't feel old. when i was in junior high, i couldn't imagine getting my driver's license, turning eighteen, becoming an adult, graduating, going to college.
and all those things are real now. they are in or have been in my view for a while now. next year, going to college. i don't even comprehend how different life will be. not better or worse, just so different.
and i became a mother yesterday. herbert is his name and he's a very good swimmer.
i was watching him swim yesterday and wondered if he was satisfied with the life he has. i wondered if fish have desires, goals. do they want to swim in bigger places? i cannot imagine an existance without the desire for my spirit to be more and more free. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. herbert doesn't have that option. many humans do though, and do not care. they seem to be content to swim in circles in their small bowl, never being truly free. i cannot understand existance as such. never truly living, just barely surviving. sad.

| God is good.
He listens when I pray. He not only listens, but listens intently and connects with me, and He becomes so close to me that we are one.
And how can such a Great, Amazing God desire to be one with me?
It doesn't always make sense in my head.
But what I am telling you is that He does want to be connected with us. Because that relationship is what He created us for. He doesn't just want us to know about Him, be able to spout off facts about Him and the others in the Bible. He wants us to be intimately close with Him.
And I am learning so much about what this means.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. -Galations 2:20
